Two videos in 2 days! Which doesn't make up for the long stretches between videos but presently, it's the best I can do. So much for being a professional YouTuber!
Last year I started the ambitious project of making a bowl back mandolin (also known as a 'tater bug', 'neopolitan', 'Italian', or 'traditional' mandolin).
As usually happens a lot of other projects got in the way but it was not forgotten and I've been back at it again.
Along the way it dawned on me that I wasn't making an instrument, I was learning to make and instrument. And one does not just learn to make and instrument, they learn how to make the different parts of the instrument. In this case, I am learning to make the mould. So I am still at the very beginnings, trying different things and progressing slowly and still in the early stages.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Hope you enjoy the video and hope you stay with me as I journey through this project, no matter how long it takes.
